Invitation to tender: short-term research consultancy for CBRL's library collection

The Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL) invites tenders for consultation services regarding the assessment, evaluation and improvement of its library collection, model, and usage to improve visibility and sustainability.

CBRL is a British Academy-sponsored charity that promotes, sponsors, and carries out research in the humanities and social sciences throughout the Levant, with offices in London and research centres in Jerusalem (the Kenyon Institute) and Amman, Jordan (the British Institute in Amman).

The CBRL Library is a historical specialist collection that incorporates the collections of CBRL’s predecessors, the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem (BSAJ), and the British Institute at Amman for Archaeology and History (BIAAH). In recent years, more contemporary social science collections have been added. The approximate size of the collection is 10,500 volumes in Jerusalem, and 7,000 in Amman, not including offprints and maps. The collection is largely in English with some in Arabic and European languages.

The full scope of the consultation services solicited are outlined in the “Consultation terms of reference” document found here.
