Mapping Digital Cultural Heritage in Jordan (MaDiH, مديح) open source platform now live!

The Mapping Digital Cultural Heritage in Jordan (MaDiH, مديح) project had its soft launch on CKAN, an open-source open data portal for the storage and distribution of open data,* in February. The platform is accessible here.

One of the main aims of MaDiH is to provide the public, heritage professionals, and researchers with a national repository containing information on datasets recording cultural heritage held both inside and outside Jordan. You can read more about the process of the open source platform on the project blog here.

The team will continue data collection in preparation for the official launch of the platform during a workshop to be held in Jordan, 29-30th March. During the workshop, the MaDiH team will organise a user-testing session with cultural heritage professionals and students to collect feedback on usability and possible improvements for the future.

We need your help!

If you are aware of any dataset we might be missing, both in digital or analogue format, or know somebody that owns such datasets, you can get in touch with us at:

*MaDiH does not collect the data recorded in the datasets it features, but only the information about those datasets.
