Fatma Marii – Deputy Director

Fatma Marii is a consultant for museum collection preservation and conservation with local and regional projects. She had previous experiences as a lecturer at the Cultural Resources Management and Conservation Department at the University of Jordan, a conservation project coordinator at ICCROM-Sharjah, and the head of the conservation department at the Jordan Museum.

Fatma participated in different conservation projects within several archaeological expeditions in Jordan since 1992. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2008 from the Institute of Archaeology at University College London and her Master’s degree in 1998 from the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University. Her undergraduate degree was received in 1990 in Archaeology from the University of Jordan. In addition, she was a graduate intern at The Antiquity Conservation Department of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles from 1998 to 1999.
