The Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL) Amman Institute is inviting applications for a training program on architectural heritage documentation funded by the Commonwealth Heritage Forum (CHF). This initiative aims to equip up to 20 participants, including recent architecture graduates and young public employees from various Jordanian municipalities, with traditional manual documentation skills essential for safeguarding historic buildings.
The training is scheduled from September 16 to 26, 2024. Participants will engage in comprehensive theoretical lectures and on-site technical training in Amman, Jerash, and Madaba/Karak. Through this training, participants will learn traditional techniques for creating and managing architectural documentation, understand the evolution of heritage documentation, and practice manual documentation techniques to understand and analyze the cultural, historical, architectural, and social values of a site, among others.
Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to attend a workshop on research funding resources, which will support them in exploring further funding opportunities. After the training, participants will be required to submit a report within three months, demonstrating their understanding of the documentation process from desk-based assessment and fieldwork to report writing and data management.
If you hold a degree in architecture and are interested, please fill out this application form before 20 August 2024.
Please note that only individuals with a degree in Architecture, who have graduated within the past five years, are eligible to apply here.
