Call for papers – 2024 Best Article Prizes, Levant

CBRL is pleased to announce that the annual Levant prizes (2024) for Best Article and Best Article from an Early Career Scholar are now open. The awards recognise excellent research and scholarship on the archaeology and history of the Levant region, its diasporas and neighbouring countries (prehistory-Ottoman). This is an open call; the editorial board are looking for original, unpublished articles. The best paper prize welcomes submissions from established scholars, while the early career best paper prize, is for postgraduate scholars and those who have received their PhD within the past five years. Papers from a range of disciplines will be welcome: anthropology, archaeology, environmental science, heritage studies and industrial archaeology. Articles should be between 8,000 and 10,000 words, and should be submitted as an electronic version to Caroline Middleton: [email protected]

The deadline for submissions is 28th February 2024. The winning articles will be upgraded to Open Access in the Summer 2024 issue of the journal (if not OA already) and featured on the CBRL website.
